Sandra Bogerd: Singer

SandraBogerd-M

Sandra Bogerd is a Melbourne-based singer/songwriter/composer/keyboardist with musical styles varying from a cappella to electronic to piano accompanied ballads. Her many influences have included Kate Bush, Dead Can Dance, Eurhythmics, and music from other eras and cultures. She is a serial musical entrepreneur having started up a science fiction rock band, a 5-piece synth pop and vocal group, 2 choirs, a small vocal ensemble, a recorder consort and a baroque orchestra, with a plan to start a new group of mediaeval musicians performing with her hurdy gurdy. She is an occasional conductor of the RMIT Occasional Choral Society (ROCS) that she founded in 1999. In the intervarsity choral world she is reknowned for her writing and performing of catches – rounds that have hidden (usually dodgy) messages when all parts are sounded together. She also has a portfolio of compositions for choirs, most of which were premiered by ROCS. In October 2014 she released her third solo album On the Rocks, containing about an hour of music on themes ranging from desire to despair. This is available on CD from Sandra directly ($20) or as downloads via a purchasable download card ($12) or on-line from the usual places.

You can view a full list of Sandra’s albums here, or you can visit CD Baby to get your own copy of On the Rocks.

Sandra will be performing at our Saturday night Queerbaret.
