Queermance Launch

Queermance Readers from Friday Night. From left to right: NM Harris, Alison Evans, Susan Beck, Matthew Lang and Lindy Cameron

Last night saw the official launch of Queermance 2014 and it was a celebration of the talented writers we have in Australia. We had a great turnout of support and some fantastic readings, some erotic, some humorous, alll wonderful. We had readings about vampires, mythical Irish seals, post apocalyptic Brisbane and mastubation on motorbikes. We had stories about gardens, and love, and cats and people and a spellbound audience, imaginations adrift on a sea of words.

The RMIT Occasional Choral Society

The evening finished with a performance by the RMIT Occasional Choral Society, who performed some orginal work with a few hidden messages. Personally, I’ll never look at falafel the same way again. All in all, it was a great night, and we look forward to a great festival. Join us tonight at the Hare Hole for Queering the Text, and check out our program for a full list of events you can come along to.
